This hat and these boots are by far my fave two items for the winter, so expect to see a whoooole lot of them. Also, the other day my friend was talking about jean leggings and how comfortable the they are, I thought to myself, this would be PERFECT for me bc I hate jeans, but LOVE leggings. After cleaning my closet last weekend, I found that I ALREADY had a pair. I slipped them on and an instant smile came across my face. I am now on a jean legging quest, bc you know, one pair is  never enough.

The other night I went over to the Market Publique headquarters to do all things halloween: work on costumes, carve pumpkins, and drink wine of course. I have been loving the school girl look, and decided that these red shoes my just be one of my fave purchases ever.

I would like to say: I never splurge on clothes. I think this is for a couple reasons 1) I am constantly changing/evolving my look and never want to spent too much on my current obsession 2) my Mom instilled the value of a dollar in me from a early age, and always shopped the best deal 3) I live in Manhattan and I think they are going to start charging to breath.

The problem with my lack of splurge-ability is that I end up rebuying basic EVERY season. So I put aside my frugal ways and spent a little money on a pair of boots…a pair that I am hoping will carry my through this season and next.  Fingers crossed, bc I love ‘em.

I would love to know: what do think is worth splurging on? Is there any item that you never regretted spending a chunk of change on?

I am not a huge fan of pants, but I felt great today and got a lot of nice words about my outfit. These plaid babies were a thrift store find that I was a bit iffy about, but for $1.50 how could I go wrong. Even though they are 3 sizes too big and labeled petite, it is amazing what a belt and some heels can do. Moral of the story: If it is cheap, give it a chance and you will get lots of compliment…well…might not be that easy…but you get the idea.

Sticking with the Black, White and Red Theme.

I wanted to say a quick thanks for all the kind words about my “Day in the Life” article. Everyone’s support and amazing comments make this blog so fun to work on, so keep ‘em coming! I love to hear from you!

Secondly, recently I have been getting frustrated. And this frustration stems from everyones seemingly endless cash-flow to spend on designer items. Unless I wanted to give up my apt, the words Gucci, Prada, Chanel will be a reference instead of reality for me. I would love to know your thoughts on the topic of designer clothes, and if they are a necessity to look stylish?
