After walking through the awkward rain/mist/blistering wind combination on the way home,  I scrolled through some of my outfits from last summer in an attempt to remember daily sunshine. I became nostalgic for not only my lighter hair, but also the ease of throwing on a printed dress with some accessories and calling it an outfit.  Even though I have never shied away from prints, I am ready to step it up this summer.

As I was scouring the internet for new prints, I stumbled upon Modcloth’s goldmine:

[weekend] carefree

I was stoked to find this dress in the back of my closet today! We first met in my room back home,  I brought it back to NY without trying it on, and was elated  to learn it fit just right. (Mom, is this yours?)  I threw on my fave Echo scarf and a pair of sandals on to make a perfect sunny day shopping outfit.  My roomie and I stopped by the new Nordstrom Rack in Union Square and I am officially scared for my wallet…That place has insane deals. I left with a new pair of  wedges I cant wait to strap on my feet! In other news: I am picking up the habit of twittering so follow me @dailyworkit for insider info.

[yea or nay] backpacks

At the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale this week, my friend Nikki and I spent a solid 30 minutes debating a structured leather backpack. It was sharp, but the price tag was steep for a trendy item.  BP’s are popping up everywhere as the hot “new” carryall, and after the backache my new huge Foley + Corinna bag is giving me, I would not be opposed to kickin it old school.  What do you guys thinks? Yea or Nay to backpacks?

[wednesday] summer oxfords

After getting wait listed for every pair of Jeffery Campbell shoes on Gilt today, I decided to peruse Piperlime for warm weather oxfords, and was stoked to see a handful of affordable shoes and a couple lust worthy pairs.

Wednesday – Vintage Finds $13

Yesterday I went to my favorite second hand store and found some fantastic pieces.  I love love love the multistring necklace in the middle! The most amazing part: the deal for the day was 50% off jewerly so I got ALL THIS for $13.  Can you belive it?
